The Fruit of Investing in the Faith of the Next Generation

Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” One of the great joys we have at Truth78 is receiving testimonies about the fruit of faith that comes as children hear the word of Christ in a variety of settings.

We hope you’ll be as encouraged as we were by some of the testimonies we’ve received in the past few months:

From Samantha at Heavenbound Outreach
Johannesburg, South Africa

Heavenbound Outreach has been using some of the Backyard Bible curricula for the last few months in our programmes and has been extremely blessed by them. We work with about 80-90 vulnerable children each week.

The biggest blessing has been watching how these kids have taken to reading the Bible like never before. Many of them began with a fair amount of second-hand knowledge of popular Bible stories, but little understanding of who God is, and no knowledge of what the Bible is. However, this Backyard Bible Curriculum is like no other we have taught from in that it encourages the children to read a few verses directly from the Bible in each lesson. It’s been so heart-warming to watch how many of the kids, who had never opened a Bible for themselves in the past, are now excited to page through and try to find the scripture references. They’re becoming familiar with the Bible themselves and beginning to find it more accessible.

Teaching from these curricula has been exciting for me and I have especially loved the illustrations that are surprisingly relevant in poor communities in South Africa. The lessons don’t only teach facts, but also use illustrations that are superbly awesome at helping the kids grasp the meaning of concepts and remember them—the peanut butter illustration is still the favourite. I love how the curriculum incorporates these illustrations to encourage the children to consider how the content impacts them, and how it is relevant to their lives.

From Eric at Clarkston International Bible Church
Clarkston, GA

We used the ABCs of God for our 40-day camp this summer (5 days-a-week for 8 weeks). The 40 weekly lessons served well as daily lessons. Our kids camp was called Camp Encounter—Encountering the Greatness and Worth of God. We served nearly 300 different children throughout the 8 weeks of camp. Our context (Clarkston, GA) has been called the most diverse square mile in America. We were serving children from all over the world (Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sudan, Congo, Syria, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Somali, and many others) and even many religious backgrounds (Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist). We taught the large group lesson in our morning worship service and then used the small group material with groups of  10-15 kids.

The curriculum assured us that the heart of our camp was God-centered teaching. I was so encouraged knowing that our children were learning who God is, what God is like, and how they should act toward Him and that they were shown to go to the Bible, God’s Word to find the true answers. We encouraged the kids to make those questions a lifelong pursuit in knowing and enjoying our Great God. Thank you for your ministry, God-centered curriculum, and gifting us the student workbook pages that served us well.

From Angie at EFCA
Costa Rica

I spent five years working in a church plant on the former garbage dump of San Jose, Costa Rica. Approximately one year ago I transferred the leadership of Sunday school to a young woman named Marisol. One of the main reasons she was willing to take on the role was because you had so generously provided her materials to use for this first year of teaching which took a great deal of pressure off of her. She is preparing classes for 50-60 kids each week, most of whom don’t come with their parents (we feed them lunch each Saturday and Sunday), training the other teachers and helping things run smoothly each week.

This material has helped each teacher better understand the lesson each week and the Bible verse has helped them greatly in teaching the children as well as making the lesson centered around that verse. The material keeps the children entertained and the coloring sheets for the younger kids are great, saving time having to find an applicable coloring sheet to use for the lesson each week. Thank you so much for this helpful material. We are so grateful!

From Jennifer at Upper Room Church
Yangoon, Myanmar

We just finished the Be Like Jesus Sunday school curriculum. It was a great balance of presenting deep truths, yet presented in a way that kids can understand. Our Burmese Pastor told me that his son has been asking a lot about being baptized since we started the class. Several specific things from the lessons are forever burned in my heart. I refer back to them often in my own prayer times with the Lord and when I’m debriefing life experiences with my own kids and how those things we learned apply to them—specifically the image of Loving God most being the only thing that really fills our hearts and the image of crumpling up the papers with all the things in the world we look to for happiness and throwing them down.

From Mindy at Brookside Community Church
Indianapolis, IN

WE are LOVING the curriculum! We are going on month three using it. I really love the stress-free prep for our volunteers and the simplicity of the material for the children. I have noticed how our volunteers are using the simple Biblical truth and ingraining it throughout the entire class time. I cannot thank you guys enough for allowing us to have a discounted rate so we can use this curriculum for our toddlers. We are very grateful.

Supporters of Truth78 help to make testimonies like these possible. As a non-profit organization, we were able to provide teaching resources at a discount, or with no cost, based on need. This year our supporters made it possible to give nearly $65,000 in free and discounted curricula to churches, schools, and families influencing more than 10,000 children and youth.

Will you consider supporting teaching opportunities like these with a monthly or one-time gift at

Your generous support will be an investment in the faith of future generations by providing resources for those with limited financial means.

…whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God (2 Corinthians 9:6-8, 12).
