Get Ready to Start Memorizing Scripture

Fighter Verses

January 1 is almost here and we cannot wait to start memorizing a new set of Fighter Verses. Whether you have been memorizing with us for years, or are brand new to Fighter Verses, we hope you will join us.

Fighter Verses is a collection of 260 passages broken down into five sets of 52 passages so you can memorize one passage each week. These verses help equip and encourage believers to fight the fight of faith as they focus on 1) the character and worth of our great God, 2) battling against our fleshly desires, and 3) the hope of the Gospel.

Are you ready to start memorizing Scripture? Here are soon tools to help you get started:

  1. Install the Fighter Verses App for the best tools and resources to memorize, study and review Scripture wherever you go. The app includes the core Fighter Verses Set, Extended Fighter Verses, Foundation Verses for kids and Children Desiring God curriculum verses. Available for iPhone, Android and Kindle.
  2. Gather a group of people around you who want to memorize Scripture as well. Having an accountability group will help you stay motivated and give you people to discuss and apply the verses with. Consider asking your family, extended family, small group, Sunday school class, friends, or your entire church to memorize Scripture with you.
  3. Read the weekly devotion to accompany the verse you are memorizing on FighterVerses.com
  4. Download the Fighter Verses bookmark to keep track of what the verse for the week is and remind you to review previously memorized verses. The 2017 bookmark is available for the Fighter Verses Set 2 in English and Spanish or use this template to create you own.
  5. Browse FighterVerses.com to find numerous resources to help you memorize. You will find articles about Bible memorization, tips for helping children memorize, Bible memory charts to encourage children and suggestions for starting a church-wide memorization program.
  6. Listen to the Fighter Verses Songs. Verses are sung verbatim to the ESV translation along with the reference in a variety of music styles. Songs can be found on the Fighter Verses App, in iTunes and on CDThe Set 2 Songs will be released in January!
  7. Visit The Verses Project for more songs and beautiful, verse-inspired artwork for your smartphone.
