Let the Little Children Sing!

Do you want students to memorize more Scripture in the coming year? Do you want to help them learn key spiritual truths? You can encourage this through song. To this end, Children Desiring God is happy to provide a helpful resource by Necia Sneed Ramsey, Let the Little Children Sing!

This spiral-bound songbook contains 90 Scripture songs for children to use in the Sunday school classroom, with children’s choirs, or at home. Choir songs include harmonizing opportunities and two groupings of songs that can be adapted to create a 10-15 minute program on Parables. A piano accompaniment CD is included. Lyric sheets (for classroom use) and copies of the choir songs are provided as printable PDFs on the Resource CD.

My children love music. And my desire is for them to know more of God’s word. This would be a great addition to our home.

Yay!!! Thank you for offering such a great resource! One of my children was just telling me the other night how he finds memorizing scripture much easier when put to music. The Fighter Verse CDs have been helpful with that and now we have another resource that can be used at home and in church. Excited! 🙂

I am the children’s pastor at Mile Straight Baptist in Soddy Daisy, TN. I love to see children singing and getting IT and not just singing to be singing words. I wish more adults would caught on. We starting a children’s choir about 3 years ago and our children are loving it.

Thank you for offering this give-away! I am a homeschooling mother of four, worship leader in our church, and I lead our church’s Kid’s Club in worship, teaching the children on biblical worship, as well. Worship and instructing the kids is such a passion for me~this set would be a huge blessing!

This sounds like a great resource. I would love have this for my children and the ministries we are involved in. I teach Chapel for a Christian school twice a month and I feel it’s important to sing songs rich in truth because they will remember those songs more than most or all of what I say, and what better words to remember than God’s? My children also minister at a nursing home once a month in which they sing to the residents. This would give us more rich material to choose from. We also do much of our drive time to memorize scripture in song and this would be great for that.

This resource would be used in our church during Sunday School opening. We are always looking for scripture based worship for our children. It could also be used when our children’s choir sings during the worship service or during Vacation Bible School.

Awesome!!! Its hard for me to memorize yesterday’s scripture verse but I still remember songs I sang from when I was in grade school. Because of that, I really believe that biblically sound songs are very important especially for kids. Would love for my kids (at home & at church) to have this resource.

  18. Kristy July 12, 2013 at 4:00 pm #

We homeschool and have found that songs are one of the best way to seal important things in our children! There are times I wonder how they memorized that verse and then realize it is from a song!

  19. Liv Conroy July 12, 2013 at 4:34 pm #

Would to have this for my three daughters 🙂

  20. Corey July 12, 2013 at 7:00 pm #

I have 5 children (12 to 2 yrs old). I am thankful to know The Lord of Glory, and seek to reflect him in my parenting. My oldest boys (twin) play the piano and the book would be great for family worship.

  21. Lori Myers July 12, 2013 at 7:12 pm #

Scripture to music is so great – it helps memorization and is an amazing way to worship! This past school year I enjoyed leading worship with my daughter in my granddaughter’s Kindergarten class as we studied Jesus, What a Savior.

  22. Cara July 12, 2013 at 8:38 pm #

I work with our Pre K – 5th graders and pick out the songs for them to sing. 🙂 Always looking for ways to teach our kiddos more scripture!

My family & I are involve in a small Hispanic growing church, the children in the church are learning the ABC’s curriculum in Spanish, this is new to them, they are in awe of what they are learning about God & his word.
It would be a wonderful addition to introduce them to Let the children sing, to worship our KING of KINGS.

    • Beth Stranz July 12, 2013 at 10:17 pm #

Fantastic, Leslie! We are trying to develop some worship songs in Spanish as well, to accompany the curriculum. We have a few songs available for ¡Cuán Glorioso Es Tu Nombre! (How Majestic Is Your Name!).

      • Leslie Medrano July 12, 2013 at 10:22 pm #

What a wonderful blessing, the children understand better in Spanish.

  24. Diane July 12, 2013 at 9:26 pm #

I teach our 2-3 year old Sunday School class. Singing scripture is a great learning tool!

  25. Anna Manelle Rosario July 12, 2013 at 11:30 pm #

I am a Vacation Bible School teacher and I love to see children worshiping God. May this Biblically rooted songs reach the Philippines so children here will be blessed too.

  26. Heather T. July 13, 2013 at 11:03 am #

I would love to win this resource! We are a homeschooling family; this would be a great addition to the Foundation Verses we will be working on this year. Also, I have the opportunity to work a lot with the kiddos at our church (my husband is an elder). I would love to use this resource to drive home scripture memory for all of our little ones! 🙂 Thanks!!

  27. Elizabeth Gilliland July 13, 2013 at 11:06 am #

I am the children’s ministry leader at our small church and also the mother or two little boys. This would be a great to include this in our Sunday morning worship time and at home with the boys. Thank You for the offer.

  28. Caroline July 13, 2013 at 11:57 am #

I love God’s Word and love teaching them to the children in church to love His Word and to apply it to their daily lives. Singing Scripture is a good way to learn for anyone, esp. kids. Thanks!

  29. Randall D. July 13, 2013 at 8:32 pm #

Right now every Wednesday we have Kids Klub, where we spend time helping kids memorize scripture, then give some resources to their parents to continue the process at home,

  30. Olga July 13, 2013 at 10:02 pm #

I am a mother of three children ages 5, 3, and 1. I am also a Sunday school teacher at a small local church. We have been using many of the resources you have provided us with and am really excited about this song collection!

  31. Grace bristow July 15, 2013 at 5:23 am #

I have a little one who loves music and I would love to instill scripture through music to make it easy to remember nd stick in his memory. Also would love to share it to the kids in church.

  32. Cynthia Rey July 15, 2013 at 10:11 am #

God has opened the door for me to minister to children in my community. I started a girls ministry two years ago and will begin the boys ministry next month. I believe music is essential because it prepares our hearts and takes focus off ourselves.
These kids need to experience worship and praise. Most don’t come from church attending families and I would love to have this resource as another way to minister and teach the importance of worship and scripture.

  33. Sherrie July 15, 2013 at 10:43 am #

Whether it’s children or adults…I strive to encourage others to have a growing, active relationship with Jesus to be a number one priority in life. To worship Him, we need to know Him. That results in daily time in His Word, prayer…and even filling our minds and hearts with spiritual, worshipful songs. Thanks CDG for the many ways you encourage His children.

  34. Melissa July 15, 2013 at 11:21 am #

We help our children worship God by making singing part of our every day! At bed time we pull out the hymn book and teach them the songs. My three year old loves this!

  35. Jen July 15, 2013 at 7:38 pm #

I teach kindergarten at a Christian school and like to open my school day with songs of worship. I love the idea of putting scripture to song because it is a perfect way for a 5 or 6-year old to memorize (great for their teacher too)! What a wonderful way to hide the word in our hearts!

  36. Annie July 17, 2013 at 1:33 pm #

Our church does not focus on worship. This would help me teach and train our children at home.

  37. Emily July 18, 2013 at 8:54 am #

My husband and I are teaching the 3 and 4 year olds at our church (with the Children Desiring God curriculum!), and they would love the music. We also volunteer regularly in the toddler room of our nursery. In addition, we are the parents of a 5-year-old, 4-year-old, and 2-year-old, all of whom love music and can memorize Scripture especially well when it is set to music. Thank you for the offer!
